didn't see any GTi stuff.. but how far off drivetrain wise was the s-10 setup you dropped your body on? it looks like a lot, but i thought it was close to the right lenght and width

yeah i just got the picture on after you looked at it. anyways the width was right on but the front of the bed was like 4 inches to long but i fixed that and i did it on a s-10 blazer frame not the s-10 pick up

Make's me wish I was back in "CornValley" so I could come over and check it out! What are you using for a steering colom? I would love (LUV?) to do away with the stock one, and get one that was 3"or 4" shorter.

thanx! well for starters the column wasn't really a swap cause im on a s10 frame so it was a bolt on except for the bracket to mount the column to the dash. as for the dash i cut out the steal dash. then i cut out the dash mounts out of the rabbit and made some 1" spacer out of sheet metal and welded them to my kick panels then welded the dash mounts to that i had to trim off the defrost hole to get the dash to fit right. i might cover the whole thing i fiberglass im still debating it

My stock dash is toast and I am probably going to build an aluminum dash for my truck, but I did do some thinking and my brother gave me some ideas about using a Fierro dash. My brother was the body shop business for a while and he was saying if you find something about the same size and year from like a GM for example chances are there is another dash that will fit in its place relativly easy. I have never actually researched doing this and when my brother says easy it usually isnt but I have had some thoughts about trying it.
