I think this will be the first luv ls series engine swap???? factory specs on my motor are 345 hp and 380 tq factory. carb intake free exhaust should jump it to 400 hp easily lol in my 2500 pd truck WOW

I had to take crossmember out to put it in. I still havent finished my motor mounts but the oil pan that came with it(truck oil pan) fits nicely about 1/4 inch maybe less behind crossmember.

Good web site. I have been on it a long time, I thought I was going to do a S10 before I got my Luv.,.. A lot of the things they do should work on a Luv with a few mods, if needed.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

thats cool....

Im not along far enough to put in a motor and trans.... but I kinda wanted to do a 4.8 or 5.3.... im glad to hear someone going with an LS engine. I wanted to be able to make mine somewhere between a daily and weekend driver.

Of course if gas keeps going higher and I dont get a motorcycle soon then I will probably end up with a 4.3 instead.... lol

Thats about how far mine sits on my S10, I don't want to lower it because of that, but I've heard that the oil pan for an H3 will set about an inch under the crossmember, if clearance is a problem ( like if you intend to lower it) you might go with that pan. or maybe an ls2 oil pan from a 05 up vette. how much clearance do you have from the bottom of the pan to the crossmember?

from crossmember to bottom of oil pan is 2-3 inches and sits about 1/4-1/2 inch width from crossmember. I will be fine for now no plans on lowering it but if i do i will switch to a different pan.

I took the cab off last night. gonna buy some coilovers soon and make removable crossmember. Probably gonna cut firewall and set it in for some clearance.

what did you coat it with?

I went with some paint on bedliner, and some of the same stuff in a spray can to get the hard to reach areas like in the body mounts.
