Here's mine I have put on a homemade shroud since then. The temp. on mine stays around 190 it goes up to 210 in really heavy traffic. I got a 400 in front of a super T-10 and a 22x19 griffin radiator.

Here's pics of mine. Only difference now is that I have the electric fan on the front of the radiator.

Here's a pic of the motor located in the frame. Hooker mounts and headers were used.

A 19" X 22" aluminum crossflow seems to be the most popular to go with. What brand to use is up to you. A trans oil cooler will be required if you dont pony up for a radiator that has a built in cooler.

Electric fan on the front of the radiator too. You can wire it up to work with a temp switch or constant with the key on. A relay is a MUST!

Electric fan on the stock one? Make a cut? Can you be a bit more specific with what you have now? Do you mean to find out where to cut the radiator support to fit the new aluminum radiator?

Here's a basic drawing to go by. With a V-8, you'll need to either create some room up underneath the support top. Or fabricate a cutout section that you can remove to make removing the radiator or engine easier. Take a look at LUVINIT's pics. He cut out the support just enough to fit the radiator. I wish i had the top section from my truck still. But it's long gone and i would have reworked it to be made removeable.
The stock radiator cant handle the cooling of a V-8 so forget about using it. Modifying a stock unit to work isn't practical because you'll spend too much money and it wont work as well as an aluminum unit.
A trans cooler is a must if you want your transmission to survive. I had my old trans looped off for a long time and i was lucky it held up like it did. Get a cooler... Pulling the motor to remove a bad trans because you didn't install a trans cooler is a waste of time and money. And once you get the new trans back in and everything else installed, you'll have to install a cooler to save the new trans.
