I am not the master mechanic some of you guys are. This s-10 conversion is not for the amateur mechanic in my opinion. The toughest part of it all is (a)fabricating the plates and (b) positioning the lower ball joint in the exact right spot so that your s-10 spindle sits on the balljoint correctly, getting free range of motion. If it sits to far in, you're binding.

So I get these plates made. Plasma cutter did a horrible job but looks are not my concern. I put them on and drill the mounting holes. 2nd I have to guesstamate the ball joint placement based on the pictures this other guys has done. It apeared I placed them fine but whe I put the spindle down it's obvious I've put it way too deep in the 'V' and I am unable to get much movemnt from them.

So I take the spindle off and grind it down, essencially weakening it. I have taken enough off of it that I really dont trust its integrity anymore. So much for the $75 junkyard s-10 spindles. To make matters worse- when getting the lower stock ball joint off I think I remember anniliating the lower stock mount so now to do the Aerospace $600 set up I am missing 1 of those.

All of this could have went so much easier if this fella above would of sent me the plates he designed and knows work as he said he would countless times. Oh well.

ok, I now realize I'm just ranting because I am frustrated and its getting hot in Arizona.

???????

Lower it?

The process converts it from a 6 bolt hub to a 5 bolt hub.

Wow Hyper. Sounds tough. I give up on my 5 lug conversion kit. I am sticking to the 6 lugs in front until something promising comes along. I am no master either but I can figure most anything out with enough time.
What about the other conversion on here with the toyo discs. can we do them easier.

Hang in there hyper . There is no easy/ cheap conversion . The cheaper the harder it seems . T.J. white's toyota rotor conversion is no cake walk or bolt on , but i'm proof it works . I think i'm officially the second one to do it. I will probably put the areospace kit on down the road when funds permit . I lost 30 # off the truck too .

I told you I didnt get the first package and in time the postal service returned it to you for whatever reason. Once again I am telling you, no package has arrived. I think you are sending it to the wrong address.

I have not been on in a long time. it seems I opened a pandora's box with my comments about this setup and no one saw that what I was saying. We were on parallel lines and never going to meet. I must go by the initial pics that I saw.......I say "initial pics" the views that I looked at showed no flange resisting a pull out. Hyperwrx has some good pics that show how the everything mates up. Opps another pandoras box. I did not say the first pics of this discussion were no good.......I am saying I did not see clearly the flange on the bottom mating surface of the plate. hyperwrx shows a good pic, pressed in from the bottom, shows the flange on the ball joint mating to the plate. This is safe and I agree with this. the plate being bolted to the lower arm is no different that the luv ball joint being bolted on. I agree with these pics as shown.

8O I feel like such a tard man. It has been all my fault from the get go and I didn't even know it, Both times I had sent the packages to

Scott Francom
4650 Stallion Dr.
Dilbert, AZ 85297

and it turns out there isn't a Dilbert, AZ. I am really sorry I dunno if it was the way I copied it the 1st time or word association. Seems like someone at the post office would have picked up on that. Man am I embarrassed. I am totally sorry for all the frustration I have put ya through.

You must have never checked out my list of pics of Page 5 of this tread.

This pic from mock up should have shown how the ball joint it's self is pressed it.

As far as cost of plates I will have to wait and see what the finial figure is at the machine shop to see how much I can let them go for.
