Is it cranking fine and just not firing ? Was it driving fine when he parked it ? That happend to my pop's truck and it turned out that he sucked the intake gasket and it was just problems.

If it is a manual try push starting it poping the clutch and giving it the gas and keep it in a high idle. Then let it drop to and idle and if it dies it might be the voltage regulator.

yeah try rolling the fuses inside the fuse box to check connection

they are bad at just simply losing connection.

Just throwing out ideas here.

Did he just get gas? Could it be a bad batch of fuel??

You said good spark, but has he cleaned or replaced the plugs? He may be checking spark at the wire and not removing the plugs.?.?

If it has been at all wet where he is, toss a can of gas dryer in the tank and flush the lines out. A little water goes a long way towards making it not start.

Just to be sure it has some good gas to burn you could try pouring a little bit of good gas down the carb throat. Not too much, about a tablespoonful or two at most. If everything else is good it should fire up for a few revs. If it backfires out the carb it means you have a timing issue, spark too early or valve closing too late. Not a bad idea to have a damp rag handy to smother the carb fire if it does decide to backfire.
