OH boy... look at the fingernails clearence between the pulley and radiator. Could it get any closer?

Could I get you to take a picture of what you did to secure the radiator to the framework of the truck? My radiator should be in this week and I need to start fabbing something.

Thanks in advance.

Farmer thats a factory mount extended to the length I needed and braced up to support . If you look close in the pic you can see a cross threaded bolt on top of the cross member , that has been corrected also.

Luvondope looking forward to checking your street out, or any street for that matter . It's hard to stay at a slow pace and keep the quality of my work up.

mepr thanks for the compliment .

hyperwrx I'll try and post the requested pics . There is actually more room then the picture shows . I have a spal pusher in front of the radiator , but have a thinner steel water pump pulley and flex fan that will fit if I decide to go that way later . Remeber that is a thick aluminum pulley with countersunk allen bolts . The origanal plan was to get the air conditioning functional again . My wife is pretty understanding about my projects , but it's easier to spend if she hears it run or I drive it .

I'm so ready to fire this thing off it's killing me . It's got 255/60/15 road huggers on back for break in . Then we go to 235/60/15 et street radials and the drag strip . The time slips will folloew the passes with the tune tips .

Radiator pics
In this one you can see where i cut back to the support and bent it in a s shape at the bottom. fuel hose is used to isolate rad from support. You can also see the bottom angle brackets that keep the bottom of the radiator in place . I should really paint that nasty battery tray.
Image
This is the front side , again fuel hose , I have more room to cut to move the bottom of the radiator toward the grill , but will only do that if I run a fan on the water pump.

Image
This is the gap between the radiator and the pulley . Also shows top radiator mount . A peice of angle iron bolted to support and then self tapping screwed to top of radiator flange . More fuel hose .

The truck originally came from oklahoma . I bought it off ebay in January . It was "already set up for a small block" . Which means we pulled a perfectly good 56,000 mile 4 cylinder and threw it away. Here is the day I rolled it off the trailer. If it would have had the original motor in it I would have never taken it out .

Muffler looks nice.

Question- I have to do my driveshaft also. What are you using for your base shaft to work from?

I am thinking about 2nd gen camero for starters and think I will have to have it shortened a bit due to my v8 sitting back a little bit.

I had the front part of a 2nd gen Camaro shaft cut off with a torch and the rear part of a truck shaft cut off . When I take it to the driveline shop , all they have to do is cut a peice of tube and balance it . The yokes can get expensive . Some shops willeven trade you or give you credit for your old parts. You can see the cut off shaft in the picture to keep it from loosing tranny fluid . Man I need a winch on my trailer.
