ok well if you've been reading all my silly question lately you'll know i can't seem to get anything right.. well it's happening again. i'm pretty sure i got the timing chaing lined up right. she's got alot more compression but now it's making a very loud clicking noise almost like the valves are hitting on the back cylenders. could that just be too much lash or could i have the chain off again. oh and it only does it when it's running not while it's just turning over. oh and what's the spec on adjusting the valves.

maybe valves, in my luv it had some clickin' when we bought it, got alot of it out by adjusting the valves, but there was still a little there... well, we figured the motor more-than-likely had been rebuilt before and not figured out that it was a pushrod...

Here's a trick to help you localize the clicking sound:

Get a broom handle.
Put one end against the front of your ear.
Put the other end on various points of the engine.

I'm guessing that it could be an exhaust manifold leak or crack if adjusting the valve lash doesn't fix it.

You could also use a big screw driver, as long as the end will cover your ear it will work. Might be more readily available anyway.
