does the egr have a vacum line running from it my vacum diagram says it does but i looked all around it and cant see it

yes.

the following are instructions for my 78' luv...

your egr valve should have a vacuum line running from itself to what i think is called a ('vacuum advance'?) - this is attached to the intake manifold closet to the distributor, aka water gallery. then another vacuum line runs from the ('vacuum advance'?) to the carbeurator for vacuum.

that should at least help.

The vacuum line comes from the egr valve to the thermal vacuum valve on the intake(front side of engine) then goes to the time control vacuum port on the passenger side of the carburetor. At least for a 1978 truck.
