I will ramble a bit. want to get it done.
Is switching the cab a huge job or what. I look at it this way ny truck needs wiring and the other cab is all wired up. still needs work in the floor but roof is not buckled. Other thing is are doors with the vent window or wing windows is to convert to the later version without my 74 doors are better then my 79 but the bed and bumper are all better so it will be titled as a 74 or should it be titled as a 79 as the frame of the 79 is wasted. the trouble or bigest question is Removing the steering colume and wheel.
really the more I think about the job is I am taking the 74 frame and turning it into a 79 4x4 stick even thought i wanted 2 wheel at so anybody interested in trading a good auto for the 4x4 stick tranny

I removed the cab and bed from my 74 and replaced it with a 78. The job was not too hard or bad at all.

just keep the title like it is that is too much hassle, just drill out the rivets on the serial# plates and swap them.

My truck is titled as a 74. Here in Ca we go off the frame for years.

how can they tell on a luv what year the frame is? Seems like the only numbers I've seen are in paint and most of the time pretty much obliterated...

It was a long process, but worth it in the long run.
