It can totally be done. I don't know what your skills are or the tools you have but it can be done pretty easily. I;m not sure if you're more into fourwheeling like me or street racing or whatever but one thing to be careful of is getting the right shocks for the application (lengthwise) what you'll find is if you keep the stock mounts on the axle or u-bolt plate, and move the mounts farther apart on top, you'll be closer to bottoming out your shocks if its not anywhere near bottoming out don't worry about it. but flex your rearend with a jack and check to see if at full flex it bottoms out the shock, if it does, get different shocks. as for mounting the shocks, i could prooly get a picture of what i did on my s-10 or maybe whats on my lifted LUV for ya, (i'm not sure if my LUV has the same stock mounts as yours). but what i did was took a piece of box tube about 1.5 x 1.5 and ran it the length of the frame and welded tabs to the outside of the box tube that i drilled holes into the put a bolt through for the shock. (pics will clear up anything)
