That just means that the alternator is used on a A/C equipped vehicle. Running A/C requires 20 or more amps for the compressor clutch, blower fan and switches. If the A/C is on at night with the lights on, the charging system needs to produce enough power to keep this working and not pull power from the battery.
The only porblem you might face is that the bigger alternator could be made with the terminals and connector clocked in the wrong direction to the mount pattern. This isn't a big problem, you just remove the 4 bolts that go thru the body of the alternator and turn it to the direction that works for you.
You didn't mention if this is for a LUV or a GM vehicle. If it's a LUV, does it have a GM alt already or are you replacing the stock system?
