 Post subject: Got a new luv

I just came across a new luv 79 4wd, Its got a problem with it, it was running when i got it but it cough through the carb and would not exceede 40 mph , it has great compression new plugs and wires, Ran the truck up on #1 tdc and the rotor is on #4 and when #4 is on tdc the rotor is on #1 it is the oppsite of what it should be any help would be great

You're going to get #1 TDC on compression but also on exhaust. Pull the valve cover, and when #1 intake and exhaust valves are closed defines compression.

I had already backed off all te valves becase when i went to adjust then and then when #1 was set brought it around to 4 and 1 was loose again I dont know know where to go from here

mine did that too. just walk the wires around. switch 1 and 4 then 2 and 3, see if that works
