I've heard a lot of talk about monza or vega rotor conversions and even read an article about it. But considering that they still have to be redrilled, what are the benefits of doing this upgrade? Are the stock Luv rotors inferior? Thanks
Jess

no Jess I don't think there is anything wrong with the stock rotors.
the only reason to do the mod is for 5 lugs.
I had a spacer/adapter bolted to the stock rotors for years, but it makes the tires stick out of the wheel well.

anyone else have $0.02?

I was thinking maybe availability of parts, but then I haven't had any problems finding anything so, lug pattern seems reasonable.... :?:

But didn't you still have to have them drilled and relugged?

The only 6 lugs wheels readily available are too wide to properly fit under the front of a LUV. The stock rotors work fine. I bought re-drilled Vega rotors from LUV4ME-thanks, they work great.

Ahh, got it now.. But if you had to have them redrilled, couldn't you just get the stock one's drilled? Or does the spacing make that impossible?

I think the luv rotors are a 2 piece design and the way the hub is formed makes it difficult to drill.
I could be wrong, but if they were able to be drilled, the guy I had to drill mine in the first place wouldn't have put the spacers on.

Alot of people consider wheel spacers/adapters to be unsafe for street use. I know people who have used them for a long time with no problems and others who have had them loosen up and shear lugs off the vehicle and even lose the wheel completely 8O . Could depend on the manufacturer but I wouldn't recommend using them :)

spacers and adapters are also not legal at the drag strip.
