Don't quote me on this but, I would think as with any vehicle, If it is a manual it probably needs 85-90 wt. gear oil and if its an automatic it would take dexron II auto trans fluid.

The manual tranny used in LUVs takes 30 weight motor oil, not 90W. 90 will probably not kill it immediately, but the trans is designed for something that flows better to get in and lube the bearings.

it'll probably shift poorly if you use 85w90. the book i have shows 30w or 10w30 for hot weather!?!?

my dad ran 90w in it for 20years and mine is still going strong
I switched to 30w and my gas millage and cold weather driving is alot better. As far as filling it i dont know the capacity but theres a drain plug right twards the end of the tranny. The easiest way to fill it is to pull a shifter out and use a funnel to poure it down that hole.
