That's not an Isuzu engine, is it?

Sometimes the problem with trying to swap a front wheel drive engine into a rear wheel drive vehicle is that there is no RWD tranny to go with that engine.

Chevy used a 2.2 liter engine in second gen s-10s, I can't say for sure but I bet they are the same, so getting the tranny would be easy if you found a s-10 tranny for the same engine.

The Hombre/Colorado 2.2L engine was made by Daihatsu & does not have a good reputation. I don't know if the Cavalier engine is the same.

Any 2.2l in a first generation chevy s10 is made by Isuzu according to what I read, than the second gen has a 2.2 made by chevy themselves.

The only 2.2L I ever heard of in a 1st-gen S10 was the 2.2L diesel. I'm pretty certain the Isuzu gas engine was a 1.8 or 1.9.
