hi all,
doing a conversion using a buick v6 and having a few problems with gettin the engine to sit right. i have brought mounts from a company here in australia and it says to mount these mounts to the block and use my standard rubber mounts but move them forward. i havent yet moved the mounts forward but i have found that when lowered the sump sits on the steering arms and if i was to lift the engine any more then it would be to high to close the bonnet. has anybody else come across this problem and did you change the steering arm or just mod the sump to fit?

Luke, did you get the kit for a 81 and up Rodeo? Is your Luv a 73 with the non crossflow engine? You need to keep the engine as far back in the engine bay as possible.

i asked for a kit for a 80 kb25 which they told me they made.my brother has a 73 luv and yes it is a different engine. i got some 89 rodeo rubber mounts and it looks as though these are the ones the kit is meant for but they are 2 wide unless i shorter the mounting on the chassis. am waitin to hear back from v6 conversions about it

You may have to do some custom fabrication, i would try and get that V6 to sit low and as far back into the engine bay as possible, by doing that it will give your Luv better balance and leave room for a big radiater and maybe an intercooler later down the road if you go supercharged.

i was thinking that.dont want it to hang low because may bag it but it can still go another 2 inchs but il have to mod the steering so just wanted to see what others have done

which buick are you using? series I, II, or III?

I have the mount kit in stock to mount series I or II.... but your on your own for III series.

was going to get mounts from the states but after i looked at my brothers 73 and it had different mounts i decided it wount be easier to just modify my stock engine mounts to suit. mounts i brought from here i am sure are not the right ones but the guy didnt want to hear the problems i was having so wont bother dealing with him anymore.
