I passed the Arizona emission test for years by cutting a big hole in the bottom of the big stock Luv air cleaner. I just set it over the top of the weber carb and KN air filter. The stock air cleaner is so big it covers everything up. They never did anything but take a quick look, never bothered to see if the air hoses were connected to anything. The smog pump had the belt on it. As soon as it passed I'd lift the old air cleaner off and remove the smog pump belt. That was 15 years ago. The truck is now in a part of Arizona that doesn't require the emissions test. Maybe they have become smarter since then.

Well, I can't speak for Arizona, or Cali., for that matter, but here in Denver they could care less what carb, intake, or exhaust you have on the car; as long as the original Air injection system, Catylitic converter(s) and O2 sensors are intact, and on the original (type) engine. (IE: Don't remove the emissions equipment)
Of course, you still then have to pass the sniffer test......
:esad

Oh, yeah... Very anxiously awaiting the arrivial of the new intakes...Yeah!

Just thought I would post so everyone didn't think there was problems. I have talked to Offy a couple times, the last time about 3 weeks ago before the holiday and also 2 weeks prior to that. My order was placed with the foundry some time ago and he informed me the last I talked to him that the foundry was about 3 weeks backlogged further than they expected, so any day now I should be hearing from Offy. I may even give them another call, but he has told me that when they get the raw castings he will let me know and the exact price. If the demand stays up a little and hopefully the economy improves, I may just re-order soon after I receive this run just so I have them in stock. Most if not all of this run should be accounted for. I hesitated with this order because there wasn't much interest last year and with the grim outlook on the economy, I held back. Since quite a few people wanted an intake in the last few months I did go ahead and place the order with Offy, which was probably back in April. I am hoping this backlog with the newly merged foundry gets worked through and the next order won't be long at all. We will see I guess and I will be sure to post updates and contact everyone once I hear back from Offy and have the intakes.

Yep, have you down for a dual plane. I am going to have to call them again and see what the hold up is. I am expecting them to be calling me any day now saying they have the castings. Will post info when I get it.

I believe Taz was going to post up some walk through pics and install info, but I think he just said if you needed help to ask

My bad...my apologies to everyone.

(And while we're on this subject - to those that thanked me back then for answering a few simple questions they PM'ed to me - your're welcome. Anytime. Kudos to you all for rolling up your sleeves, diving under your hood, and gettin' the job done all by yourself.)

But in my own defense - one of the reasons I didn't was because I figured there was enough pointless pics and babbling on about simple repairs/mods and other BS stuff already being posted here at the time.

(*cough fulla@#&! cough*)

And the other reason was it seemed IMHO pretty much like a no-brainer.

Just take off your old intake, take a few pictures if you need to because your memory is as bad as mine (...lol) - then set it next to the new one and swap everything over/install the necessary stuff on it untill it is ready to bolt it on. What doesn't come with the new intake is easily removed from your old one. Anything else you might need such as a simple hose connection/fitting, etc. can be bought very cheapily at the nearest auto parts/hardware store. And de-smogging the new one is basically the same as de-smogging the old one. (Plug the hole in the manifold where the egr bolts on.)

But hey...if after you have done a SERIOUS search here for all the info and pics about all of this intake/smog removal stuff that are already posted - you still feel you need someone to post pics, write a detailed description, and/or come hold your hand just to help you do an intake swap as simple as this one...you could always just make it easier on yourself by shipping/driving your truck to my place and paying me to install it for you....lol.

J/K...BTW.

I already have enough to do around here thanks to the wifey's infamous never-ending honey-do list. And one more vehicle in the yard and the wifey says I'm a dead man....lol

I talked to Offy Tuesday afternoon and he told me that they should be receiving the raw castings any day now. He said he was even expecting a big order from the foundry and my order could be part of that. He will be calling me when they receive them and begin machining them and I should know how many and what the price will be once I hear from him. I will post updates when I hear more. Thanks to everyone for their patience, it has been a long wait this time and hopefully in the future things will be smoother.

Good news for a change! I had a message from Offy Friday, so I called back and talked to him and he informed me that they have the raw castings and are working on the machining. He will be letting me know when that is finished and they are ready to ship out to me. Probably sometime this coming week, so I should hopefully have them within a couple weeks. I will most likely contact everyone in the order or close to the order they contacted me wanting an intake. It is only fair to ship out the intakes to the guys who have been patiently waiting the longest. I will contact everyone with all the details when the time comes so I don't end up getting swamped. I know everyone is anxious for their intake and I will get them shipped out pretty quick. I do know now that the run was a little more over than I expected, but that is ok and there should be plenty to go around and I should have a few extra. The dual plane part of the run had 2 extra and the 6204 had 4 extra. The total could change if they find anything wrong with any of the castings, but I doubt it will change. So anyone who contacted me more recently and I said that we will have to see what I have left, there should be no worries as I should have plenty. I will post more info when I hear back from Offy and they ship them out to me. Thanks to everyone for patiently waiting and it should not be as long next time around and I might even keep them stocked, depending on the economy and if there is enough interest in the intakes. If anyone else who hasn't contacted me or anyone new to the forums is interested in an intake, let me know and I will give you all the details.

More good news! Offy called me Friday afternoon and informed me that the order would be shipping out later this coming Monday. I don't know if I will get them before the holiday, but I will be sure to post updates and begin contacting everyone once I do get them. The #6203-DPW dual plane intakes are all spoken for, but I should still have a couple extra #6204-CW if anyone else wants one. Offy informed me that 5 of the dual plane castings were no good so this is why I won't have extras of those and that there is a usually a higher attrition rate with these castings because it is a little more tricky than the single plenum of the #6204-CW. All of the #6204-CW were fine and they also pressure tested the complete order to make sure they are all good. The people who wanted the dual plane should get theirs, but anyone else that may have wanted a dual plane in the future may not be so lucky. I may order more of these down the road if there is enough interest. More updates will follow as I get them and thanks again to everyone for patiently waiting for the intakes.

The order was definitely shipped out late Monday and I have the tracking info. I should probably receive the intakes after the holiday sometime.

I don't think I posted a price. I had been waiting for the order to be completed. I probably won't have any dual port left anyway, they are all spoken for, but if there is any extra I will let you know. I should have plenty of the 6204. I may order more dual port on a future order if enough people want one. If you want more info PM me and I will give you more details.
