there are the ten head bolts and then the two little ones by the timing gear that hold the head down.... I have a neverending slow oil leak coming from there and I cannot get it to stop... I have tightened the bolts but cannot find a exact torque spec for those two bolts... makes the engine look crumby and burning oil is not a desired smell while drivin... any suggestion on how to get this leak to stop?? Thanks guys
Jeremy

I looked for the torque for the two bolts...from the head to the front cover and I can't find it in my shop manual. IT points these two bolts out in the head torque sequence (that's what I was doing at the time) but I have a hard time believing they get torqued to 70 ft lbs. 8O I', thinking if they are tight you might be looking at a gasket replacement.

They are called "front cover fixing screws". They are 8mm, same as the rocker arm studs, should torque the same, 14 to 16 ft-lbs.

Oil will leak from the small crack where the block and timing chain case join together. The fix is a dab of sealant, (permatex or gasket sealer of some type) applied there before you put on the head gasket. Some repair manuals will tell you about this and some do not. Has worked great for me.

BTW- a tip on torqueing bolts to less than 20 ft-lbs, the lowest reading on most clicker torque wrenches: get & use an inch-pound clicker wrench, to convert divide ft-lbs by .083 to get in-lbs.
With the bolts talked about above 15 ft-lbs/.083 = 181 in-lbs.
