Ok.I posted a couple of days ago that my drivers door hinge locked up and I bent my door! What if I take the door off and straighten the bend and reinforce it with a piece of steel? I know I would have to use longer bolts for the hinge. Or are the hinges spot welded onto the door?
I haven't taken the door panel off to see if it is possible. Any ideas or advice?

We just replaced one on my son's '80 Luv and they aren't welded on. When you talk about reinforcing it, do you mean from the inside of the door?

Yes the is what i thought because that way the reinforcement would be on the whole side of the door and you wouldn't interfere with the hinge.Only problem I think of is the pain in the butt it will be to realign the door.I can paint, do some bodywork, but I HATE body panel alignment!

Panel alignment....if it won't align the way it's suppose to then a few shims and if need be a grinder and welder. IT CAN BE ALIGNED.
