Many with V-8 trucks including me find the stock set up fine.

Does your brake booster fit OK? I'm going to put front discs on mine, and since I have a hydraulic clutch I am afraid a larger booster from the later disc brake master cylinder/booster combo will have interference with the clutch master cylinder. Now, I do have a smaller booster on my 72 now (stock) but I am assuming that will crap out one day, and I haven't been able to find a replacement for that one smaller one anywhere.

Also, what about just running manual brakes? Like with a Corvette manual brake master cylinder? Also, I heard there were S-10s with manual brakes. If they ran front disc rear drums with manual brakes, I think I'd be fine with that.

That said, everyone on here uses the stock ones with a booster so maybe that should be a lesson to me.

Running a m/c with out a booster never sat well with me. but with the right bore size it works. well was haveing problems with changing my brakes becuase the ones I got off ebay didnt fit right do to the metal tab the keeps it in place. so im eventually change the lug pattern to 5lug and new calipers along with a new master and booster. think I got a plan :smt017

No, I don't have a master cylinder or a newer booster. I should have gotten yours but I ran out of time, and it looks like you needed it anyway so there you have it. I may just use a new disc/drum master cylinder (they are only like $40) with the small booster I already have.
