Mine has a flair, and looking at the steps I have, the full size ones are too big, distance from step to cab) may can be cut down...

There were at least two companies that did the step side conversion in the beginning. Cal Step Side located in Cal and a company by the name of Anderson from the south. Cal step side copied the big chevy step side fenders and Anderson copied the Ford rounded step side from the 60's.
Could that flared fender be copied from the dually rear fenders.
I believe all of the aftermarket kits had a metal step separate from the fenders. It would support more weight.
I have a set of cal step side fenders and bed, however the crossmember are welded in for a pl620 datsun.
