I have to get my 78 to pass smog. The smog pump hoses were all rotten. I pulled them off. I am having a prob finding replacements for it. I used some radiator hose but it binds in the middle and doesn't flow correctly. I will take the pump off when I pass but, for now I need it to all look stock..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

where are you located. How many do you need....all of them? I can look at my parts Luv and let you know what mine look like. If they are good, you can have them for the cost of shipping.

lol, if they don't look good, wrapping them with a good cloth based tape always works.

they were thrashed, so I tossed them. I live in Vegas and would be happy to pay shipping on some hoses.

I just took the pump off. My friend had his 79 C10 pass smog with out a smog pump and 2 leaky mufflers. He feels that my truck will pass without them as well.

I think mine will probably be OK. Let me know if you want me to pull them or not.

Uh, the going to the smog shop is a no-go without everything attached... if they run you, and you don't pass because you don't have all the stuff hooked up, you'll be put on the list for a smogging every time your registration comes due.
I'd hook everything up before you go in.

really, I hope not. I kept everything I took off. However it will suck putting it all back on. My friend said his truck ran like crap and had all the smog equip taken off. Well, wish me luck... I guess

If you're going to try and pass emissions test without it make sure it's running top notch. Maybe even a tune up and definitely tune the carb. If you're having issues with it go lean over rich for the test. Good luck with whatever way you go.

thank you sir, what my friend told me today is that pre 1980 in nevada vehicles didn't need smog pumps. My truck was from cali where it did and still does. So, if he is wrong I will flog him.
