Many things tie into engine cooling, check your timing, is the radiator any good, it may need roding out, how is the radiator cap? There is no one thing to say "that will run cooler", look at the big picture.

Where did you get the new fan clutch? And is it just like the old one?

i got it from dicks auto in azusa off azusa ave off the 210. its bolts right to the fan but the way it bolted to the water pump was a lil differnt but theres a adapter thats on the water pump for the old clutch i just took that off and than the 4 bolts that gointo the pulleys and the clutch just bolted to those four bolts. it was like $55 it is also a spiecial order part thojust have to wait a day. and also the clutch sticks out farther than the old one less of clearance on the raditor but theres enough

OK. Sounds like the same one that my parts store got for me. I think they are actually for an 81/82 LUV and PUPs. But for some reason when I to put it on my 80, I ran out of room. Probably the 3 row radiator I have on it.

The radiators were shorter in the 72 - 75 trucks. If you look at bottom of the core support you can see if they both go forward and the radiator sits behind. The 77 does.

Also I know you don't have a coolant overflow...get one. Lastly, since your AC is broken, you don't really need a clutch fan at this point so you could go to a solid fan for testing purposes, in case you are afraid that even your new fan clutch is no good.

Make sure to turn your heater on when starting a drained engine, the heater core needs to be bleadn as well.
