I have some weird home made adapters for the 5 lug rotors on my LUV. They are safe and work well but I would like the tires to suck in some. I don't really want the aerospace kit as my truck is not ment to race. Can someone that has the rotor converson from stock LUV to the Toyota upgrade take a measurement for me. I would like the measurement from the outside of the rotor face to the outside of the caliper hold down. I am trying to suck in my front rims/tires some.

It's all good Tilted. See, I have a allowance for my toys and the brakes I have now are plenty good as I don't race the truck. So basically the more I spend on my LUV this winter the less I have for my airplane, thats why I was thinking about the Toyota deal. This is only a cosmetic change, the function is fine.

In Hotrod80's sticky on this subject I found the following info...

knocked out the old studs and bought 1/2-20 tuds to replace the metric studs . I also had my hubs machined on the wheel face to reduce the wheel base difference from the factory Luv set up . The best I can tell the toyota rotor set up is approx 1" wider than the stock Luv . I had almost 1/4" machine off . This is a judgement call on your part . I did mine , you will have to decide for your self if you feel safe removing material from the hub or not .

Cant you fix it with wheel offset???

Toyota 5 lug is the same as fords 5x4.5" or whatever, but why not use Toyota rims off a FWD on the front to bring the tyre in. The large toyotas like the Camry and Rav use a nice dished in offset. And you can buy aftermarket rims for them. Im sure you could get them in the same style as the rims you could buy for a Ford. Toyota offset on the front and Ford offset on the back.
Get your self a spare wheel that carries and offset that will work on both ends.

Just a thought.

My rims are made for either Ford or Chevy bolt patterns. They are 4" wide so I cant get any more narrow.
