Has anyone installed a Hurst Pro matic 2 or something close? The one I have is a pro matic and it was used and I do not have any instructions on how to install. Mainly on how to mount it to the floor board securly , and all I have is just the shifter and the cable, no brackets.

Any advice would be great.

bama i just mounted mine to the trans tunnel, you may have to put some spacers to level it out and you can mount it a little angled if needed. make sure to put a thick washer on the underside for more stiffness.

CT you the man.
Thanks for the advice and pictures. Would you recommend installing before the engine and trans go in so the washers can be installed underneath

Well mine is a B&M but looks very similar, I had to massage the tunnel to match the mounts on the shifter, then trim the plastic base to match the contours, was pretty simple. Definatly install it before you have the tranny in, a lot easy to bolt down that way. Like CT mentioned. use some large washers to make it more stable. Mine vibrates side to side a little at idle.

It makes it easier also if you have a friend that will do this too! :ebiggrin

Nice looking shifter Tilted, but do you really need it for that 1 manpower engine?

Sometimes if you know the model and or number of the shifter, a lot of companies have on line manuals.
I don't know if Hurst does? Sometimes other places might too.

I found one on a a/c thermostat in my house!

Cables? Cables? We don't need no stinking cables!

There are some wonderful cables called morse cables. They work great for a lot of stuff.

Looks like marine cables are fairly cheap.
