i almost just bought an LS1 to put in mine but didnt wanna do all the computer stuff and all the extra wiring so then i jus got a 305 sbc

well it really all depends on how much money you wanna spend. if you can get the engine/trans and all the controllers for a reasonable price, then all it would be is getting the engine mounted, and getting it wired.

if you cant get the harness for the motor, then msd sells a controler that will run the motor, but then youll have to figure out a trans.

will this work on a 5.3l i can get the whole motor with wiring except ecm?

Sounds like it should. Looks like you need this part too.

"Timing Control Module made by MSDĀ® which works with OE sensors to fire the coil-on-plug ignition system and offers a choice of six timing curves. A special throttle and trans bracket that works with 700R-4, 200R-4 and Turbo 350 transmissions is included, making the LS1 engine an easy retro-fit into any muscle car, street rod or marine application. I am not sure if you can put a distributor in it.

well i stepped up to the plate guys got me a 6.0l outta a 2002 yukon and im gonna carburate it. Goin to pick it up tommorrow Its gonna be an awesome project!
