I wanted to compile a list of everyone that has done a 4.3 V6 swap so when I find a LUV I will know who to go to for help. So stand up and be heard.

Also If you have pics of the swap please post them or if you have already have done so please post a link. Also any advice would be nice so if you have the time list what you can.

Thanks

I've been trying to Google for the main website for Hooker for the trans and motor mounts for a 4.3L. Does anyone have that website?

I dont think Hooker actually has a website....

But if you go through Holley or http://www.holley.com/index.asp?division=Hooker
Thats about as much as I could ever figure out.

I am just getting started on that swap myself.
I have the motor pulled and ready to fix up. you suggested to me to change out the manifold
rather than plate it for carburater conversion, and I thank you for that advice.
I am also swapping in Toy axles. I will keep you posted It will take alittle time to complete, I have a lim ited budget for the project. It will also be my first swap.
Ill be watching this post for fellas that can help me with mine...

I know you would be a lot happier with the intake swap when it comes to power. Also, check around, there are a few guys swapping S10 stuff, might work better than the Toyota stuff.

A trooper rearend off a V6 is strong enough and saves having to do the lug bolt change. Toyota yields the same. Anybody got a website or address for the Hooker engine swap kit yet?

Who makes motor mounts to do this swap? Also is it a all bolt in affair or do the have to be welded?

i did a 4.3 engine in mine and as far as mounts and small stuff youll have to fab it your self,it wont be easy. i highly recomend the edelbrock intake for the 4.3, i had to go with a cast iron intake due to emmissions reasons and im so disapointed in my 6.

Here is an idea that may make it where you can use the hooker mounts instead of fabing and upgrade to a V8 later on. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/7899,405_1988-2000-S-10-Engine-Swap-Kits.html

Speedway motors also has alot of custom motor mount options for V6 and V8 application http://www.speedwaymotors.com/m/405_Engine-Motor-Mounts-Conversion-Kits.html

Also there is this option
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/3273,405_Small-Block-Big-Block-or-90-V6-Chevy-Crossmember-Mounts.html

and they carry a removable tran mount / crossmember
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/3279,443_Straight-Tubular-Transmission-Mount.html and the price is not bad at $34.99 for a bolt-in / weld-in trans mount that is removable, but I am not sure if a Luv frame is wider than 38".

Looks like the 4.3 that I have and a small block have different mounting points for the motor mounts, the V-6 is farther back. If anyone has pics of the motor mounts welded in the LUV please post.
