djewett, if you accidentally hooked up to manifold vacuum instead of carburetor vacuum, it would cause the symptom you described. Just a thought.

Bob, I lived with rough idle for a long time until I discovered the brake booster was leaking. It ties into the manifold right at cylinder #4. A leak causes #4 to run real lean, while the others run richer, so there's no carb adjustment that works. Just a thought too.
