So I've been MIA for a while now, busy toiling away in the garage... although I feel not a lot has happened, but a lot has changed... :P

Here goes...

I scrapped my dovetailed and bobbed bed for toob 8) Went through and redid some old mounts and other nick-nacks...

Fresh paint...

Some Toob stuff!
Image

Seat mounted (although it's going to have to be redone i feel due to it sitting too high...)

'Nother shot of the toob stuff.

in order to get a big motor in the front i asume and you have more room to work with in the engine bay

Ya, there isn't a whole lot of room, without cutting and tearing, to fit the radiator in the front and keep the grille and stuff in the "stock" location.

I don't have any good front pics, cus there is no grille or anything, so no real need for pics of it right now, when the bumper starts to get built, i will assure you there will be pics

but for now i leave you with some "b" squad style fab work

radiator hose connecting the bottom radiator hose to run down the frame rail...
Image

in place for fitment, it's not lined up cus it's just resting there, i assure you it lines up perfectly :P
Image

Fans... they came with this uber cool sticker already on them, so i had to make sure they were visable

i installed a 350ci motor in my truck and put the radiator right where it belongs. course, i had to cut the firewall and set it into the cab about 4 inches. (should have gone 5" but i measured and thought i needed 3" so i went 4" to give me some extra room. turned out i could have used more!) but it all worked out in the end. i have pics of the truck but being somewhat computer illiterate, i doubt i could figure out how to post the pics here. the truck has a 27 inch lift kit overall between suspension, body lift, and tires. i want to install 44" super swampers this summer.

Ya I didn't want to cut into the firewall as i felt it was too much work, I instead just slid the body back and made new body mounts (was going to have to do it anyways/no extra work) So it in a way pushed my front axle forward from the body giving it a way better approach angle. I could have put the radiator up front, but i wanted to keep the stock look of the front end (ie, lights/grille) plus it's a little safer from limbs and rocks in the bed  .
Ya, I have a little under 4" of total lift (minus 39.5" tires of course :D ) But the top of the cab sit's at 6'-4" :egeek LOW center of gravity is what I was going for and I think i got it...sort of, it has 26" of belly clearance and about 12-13" under the diffs. 109" wheelbase i think

27" of lift!!! man that is high! ya, to post pics, go to photobucket.com make an account, upload your pics, then there will be little text boxes under the pics, copy/paste the "image/jpeg" text into a post on here and you should have a picture to show for it! :egeek

no, ha ha, I calculate my lift from the stock setup of my suspension (suburban chassis) it has a 4" lift kit on it, with a leaf or two taken out to make it squat a little. I don't know what height a stock LUV sits at, but I personally guage "lift" in a couple different ways, there is overall height (fairly important to me for roll-over factor) then there is plain ol' suspension lift/body lift. Tire lift, [half the tire's diameter- centerline of axle to bottom of diff (ground clearance) ] It all depends, lol. cus ya, I personally don't have 27" of lift, my s-10 has about 12" of lift and is only a few inches taller than this truck. but that is measure from the stock height of my s-10 chassis base. but from the suburban chassis base, it was only 4" of lift to get it where it is... :egeek

it depends on how high this guys cab sits to the top of it :?:

Thanks!

I did a little more, work/measuring/brain storming/drinking beer, last night... Decided NOT to change my seat mounts and to keep moving forward and mount the passenger seat, I also spent a good hour, shifting the t-case in and out of gears to figure out the different combinations of gears I had, I am loving the Front Wheel Drive option :egeek That should prove to be fun. :D So now i just have to wait on the fuel stuff to come in, get my floor started and install my tranny shifter, and get my t-case shifters figured out and made. then the interior will ALMOST be done.... 5 pt harness still have to be bolted down. but i am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel more and more...
