Hire a real good shyster lawyer and sue his little butt off...that really sucks!
Make them get you another truck in just as good condition. and don't let them try to give you "blue book" price for it either.
After all - it was a customized classic old truck he ran into...and it's not like the darn things grow on trees everywhere.
And don't forget to make them let you keep your old truck for parts.
BTW...my insurance guy just had me document all the time and money I have invested in my Luv, plus he had me take a bunch of pictures. I now pay a bit more for insuring it as a classic or collectable vehicle - but IMHO it's worth it to not have to worry about getting screwed over if it gets wrecked or stolen.
I highly recommend that everyone here does it. There's a local guy in town that had a beautiful full-sized 72 Chevy shortbed stepside that he showed for years which he had literally thousands of dollars invested into.
That is - untill one day he was driving it and it got totalled in a 3 car pile-up on the freeway. He just had liability insurance on it, and none of the stuff he had done to it was documented - so he got royally screwed over in the insurance settlement.
Plus while it sat at the tow yard - a bunch of his stuff was stolen off of it - so he never has put another truck back on the road.
I hope everything works out for the best for ya Kevin!
And I'm really sorry to hear about your poor old truck.
