A t-5 will bolt up if you get the BOP bellhousing. There have been a few on E-Bay or you can look for the Monza clones like the Buick Skyhawk and some of these had a saginaw 5 spd.
I have one in my truck but i am not ready for the auto for drag racing yet.
Look on E-Bay under Buick parts.

200HP is a no brainer as you can get that easily without the turbo, you will be in the 300+ range for a easy to drive motor that only weighs 400lbs so now you will have good power and it will handle to on the street.

The bellhousings are different but use the same trans bolt pattern.

There was one here a while back on eBay with the chevy V6 in it. They arent a common motor down here.

We had the Buick derrived 3.8L V6 in one of our local cars and they are popular to swap into all sorts of things. Mostly with the TH700R or the T5 if you can find a manual one.

As the commercial says, "I could of had a V8", Its not bad but after I got my SS S10 with the 4.3 Vortec, my LUV seems pretty slow now. Plus having a turbo 350 with the stock rearend, I can get to about 60-65 pretty quick but then it sounds like it wants to blow up because the RPMs are so high. Should be better with a 700R4 (which I dont think they had at the time I put mine it) but I will be adding 2 more cylinders like I should have in the first place. :x

There are 3 V-6. The Buick, a narrow 60 degree engine and the Chevy which is a V8 with out two cylinders. You know which one you are talking about, but be sure about other parts. BOP parts fit the 231. Different trannys may work. I don't know other than the ones that came with the engine.

Well 4 if you count even fire and odd fire 231's but that is in the engine only... We won't get into the old, BIG GMC V-6's

found out its a 77/78 could be odd fire (77 was change over to even) but cant tell.. here are some pics of the motor ill get ,the step side bed and a good dash ( the tape is to hold it and keep it from cracking in the weak spots) to make a fiberglass copy off this coming summer
Image
check out these motor mounts, 1/8 flat steel welded under the frame, is it just me or is that crazy

Is the motor mounted in the truck in that first pic?? Looks like it sits about a 6" lower and 6" forward more than mine. Which is strange as I cant get my tranny out without pulling the motor as the top 2 bellhousing bolts are right against the firewall , my fan is less than a 1/2 inch from my radiator, my air cleaner barely fits under the shut hood and my headers are about an inch from dragging on the ground. Looks like you have all kinds of room there. 8O

Check the engine over closely as it looks like it could also be a 3.8 Chevy motor witch is allot like the Buick motor and if it is it will have the chevy bellhousing bolt pattern. Also be sure you get the dist.
