Now, if I were to buy the carb below, since its brand new and whatnot, but it doesn't come with an adaptor, where can I buy an adaptor?

From another post on this subject, ctman likes the 250 :D The adapters run about $30. The full install redline kit is about $90...

Thoses holley weber carbs won't work on the later years luvs with the carb on the passenger side, but if you have a early luv with the carb on the driver side it might. I don't know to much about the early years luv.

That's a lot of carb. for a stock eng. That is not a progressive carb. Both those barrels feed at all times. It is not a mileage carb and just might be too much.

Well, what carb would you suggest? I just like that because its cheap, but I don't need power. Got a cheap carb with good gas mileage?

also the DGEC can be found for around $300. It is a better version of stock. It runs on the one barrel for normal driving and opens the secondary barrel when you floor it.

This place sold me one for $300 -free shipping.

Man, I was really hoping to get it cheaper. Will the ones on ebay that nuke posted earlier work?

You can pick a weber 32/36 up cheap used on ebay, and then get a cheap complete rebuild kit on ebay too. A lot of them even come with an adapter plate and the air cleaner.

Just do a search for weber carbs and you should find a bunch, and if not keep trying every day because they are always on there. Rebuilding one is pretty simple.

I've got a rebuilt 32/36, and a rebuilt 38/38 that I'm using, plus 3 others I have for spare parts - and I never spent over $75.00 for any of them including shipping.

You can download a file that has ever bit of info on every weber ever made here: http://www.luvtruck.com/pdf/Weber_files.exe

Just right click on it and save it to download it, then double click on it and it will unzip into a folder full of .pdf files that you can view in adobe reader.

This carb should fit your truck with a $30 adapter from JAM and some creative throttle cable mounting. Not sure which adapter the second one has, but odds are it's for an import.

Taz is pretty much on track here, you should be able to do a carb, carb kit, adapter and throttle mount for under $100. Take a quick read through the pdf taz linked to. There are a couple of wear spots to be aware of on the weber. They often come up on craigslist too, a lot of time freshly pulled from a toyota or datsun. Usually they run about $125-150 on CL. You might even get lucky and not have to kit the used carb at all.

Which adaptor from JAM would I need?

Also, in the manuel it says for my LUV I need a 32/32. Should I get a 32/32 or one of the 32/36's?

And, no matter what, I need a DGV series, not a DFV series, right?

The 32/36 weber carb is best for a stock G180. That way you get good gas mileage when you are driving normal and performance when you want/need it. And the DGV series is the best choice. Whether you get one with a manual choke or electric (one wire) choke is entirely up to your personal preference. Both are good carbs.

For a G200 (either the stock G200 Pup engine or the higher performance Impulse 1.9 G200 block) you can run a Weber 38/38. But it doesn't work out well for a stock G180 because it's just too much carb due to the G180's smaller valves.

From earlier in this thread, any of these three would work:

The JAM pn's are listed in the links, or you can call them. It's sort of a one man shop, but he's pretty responsive. I accidentally called him after hours and he answered on his cell. He asked me to call back during business hours to place an order...

Out of sheer curiousity, would it upp my hp at all?

Sorry about that, I really didn't understand the first time. Thanks for all the help though.

I'm not sure I understand your question...but switching to a weber 32/36 from a stock Hitachi will not only increase your engine's hp a bit, but will increase the engine's performance as well. Simply put - it's a better carb by far. Proof of that is the fact that most people notice an improvement in gas milage after they bolt on the weber as well.
