Sorry to who ever I cut this from, I forget who posted this in here: I've been saving some things I've seen in here. I'll start taking note on who said what, but this post addresses some of the issues:
Quote:
"The first thing i know for fact is that you can go from g180(1.8l) to g200(2.0l), other options include 2.3l(4zd1) and 2.6l(4ze1), and if am not mistaken then the parts of these engines can be interchanged(head/block/manifolds), this also includes me theory on using the 2.6 EFI intake for a dual carb setup(the lower section has 2 openings that appear as if they could be modified to put dual carbs on it).
"The bellhousing pattern on the 1.8 2.0 2.3 and 2.6 are the same. There are differences between them like hydraulic and cable operated clutch setups but they can be converted easily from hydraulic to cable and vice versa.
Again, I'll note who's posting what in the future if I cut n paste.
But a g200 turbo 4z motor head (EFI, possibly turbo) on the stock g180 block seems like a sweet conversion. I would be interested in learning more about that. Hell, just a bottom end rebuild and turbo top/wiring, etc for a little extra umph...
