I know this topic comes up a lot but I have came across a 4 headlight setup that I would like to swap to my 79. I have a few questions:
1.) What are the inner two lights for? high beams/turn signals?
2.) Can I use the 4 headlight setup with my 79 bumper?
3.) Could I use 4 halogen bulbs? If so, would I have to upgrade any wiring, or would a higher amp alternator do the trick?

Thanks!

1. The inner two are high beams.
2. I don't think the bumper would matter.
3. If by halogen you mean the regular replacement bulbs that look the same as original but say halogen on the glass, then I would say no mods are necessary.

The grill will need to be narrower though.

I didnt think the bumper had anythin to do about it, but I was readin up on a previous thread and the bumper was mentioned. I miswrote the type of light, lol. The type of light I was meanin is the HID lights, I already have one set and was just wonderin if I had to do anythin else if I added another set. Thanks!

The quad headlight is a direct bolt on. just remove all the single headlight parts and the grill and the dual headlight buckets screw right into the holes. The hid lights should work if you get the same size bulbs. Looks much better than the 2 headlight setup imo

The 2 bulbs are larger in dia. than the 4 bulbs, so you will need 4 more.

the older lights are like 5 1/2" and the newer ones are 7".

I already have a set of the new 7in crystal clear, so I would just have to buy another set which isnt a big deal. So I could use my extra brackets from a dual headlight setup for my inner brackets?

The 2 light buckets won't work with the 4 light set up, the bulbs are larger. You will have to get the smaller 4 light buckets and bulbs.
