Could be points. Seems like when they get bad they almost seem to do it all at once. It also could be timing.
Of course, can't rule out fuel problems. A little water in the gas would make it act like that. You may just need to run it, maybe add some gas dryer additive (99% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol works) and it could clear itself up. With fuel availability problems in recent weeks you might have gotten some from the bottom of a barrel somewhere.
