Hooking up the weber was simple. However I have run into a problem. The wiring from my new 2.5psi fuel pump was connected to the old positive in replace of my old fuel pump, the wiring runs into the old hitachi carburetor? I have no power to the fuel pump with the key turned on thus I am not getting fuel to the carburetor. I am doing this right now and need help fast!!! how do i hook up the old wiring harness from the old carb to the weber????
anything helps thanks!
This has nothing to do with a Weber. Who ever had your truck bypass the factory fuel pump wire and ran their own wire.
1. Do it right you need to trace a wiring diagram and fine the original wire and using a test light check for power when the ignition is on.
or
2. Use a relay to hook up you pump
or (rest of these are not a very good way to hook it up but works in a pinch)
3. The wires to the carb should be hot with key in running position and you can keep the wire hook up where it is. One wire should be your electric choke and the on the wire is for idel valve on the carb, forgot what it is called but the Weber does not have this set up.
4. Go to your fuse box and find and acc that is not being used and wire it in.
5. Hook the wire to the coil positive so you have power when the key is on for the fuel pump.
