Im about to purchase an 86 honda from my cousin and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these cars that you think that i should before I purfchase it? Thanks for any replys!! :D

yeah... if its an Accord, they have about 10 miles of vacuum lines on them.

yep. just hope it never develops a vacuum leak, it will take some time to chase it.

luvsadrag is right. just look over the vacuums real quick.
i used to have a 88 accord lxi. it was a nice little car but i'm not into the honda's so it had to go.
they usually get 350-440 miles a tank. they'll run forever if you keep up on the motor (i've seen 420,000). look at the driveshafts for popping around corners and make sure the tranny shifts fine. i went through 3 trans with the little driving i did. i ran it rough and it always started. i got so good at swappin trans i get rip the suspension out,drop the trans and put the other one i there in a hour and a half.
ALSO, do not pay more than 1700 for a perfect one. 1200 for one with little work..

My mother in law bought a new accord in 88. In about 02 she gave it to us when she bought new again. We had little trouble with it. It had 160000 when we sold it. It was a pretty good car with auto trans. , no probs.

The only problem I had with my honda was like brandon said... the cv joints popping when turning.

my wifes car is an 86 civic dx I forgot what engine it has but itll run forever at this rate,no I cant fit my hands in the engine compartment. hondas are excellent transpo and can be alittle fast
