Ive got a dvd player that I bought 2 years ago that seems to have a problem playing some discs. Shortly after I bought it we played a rental dvd and it played, but the player was making some strange noises as it started and then hummed through the rest of the disc. Itll play some discs fine and then others it will make noises and sometimes if you want to jump to a different chapter or check out the features of the disc it wont let you. Thinking the things a pile of dung and should get a new one. Any of you got a dvd player that you havent had a problem with? Need to know what brand name to look for that doesnt suck. Mines a Daewoo that I got at Sams Club.

I've had 3, still have 2, an Apex cheapie for the kid and a Panansonic, havent had any problems with either. The remote for the Apex sucks though and you can't use a universal for it for some reason. The panasonic has been great though. M2P

I've had a panasonic for almost two years now with no problems at all. Hell I haven't even cleaned it.

ill let you in on something. When i was working in the warehouse at Circut City, i alm ost never saw Sony and Panasonic DVD players (or much of anything for that matter) come back. These are vary good quality and worth the money. Some of the higher end modles have MP3 capability and DVD recording and such.

I got a Magnasonic DVD player for Christmas this year, and so far its been good. Only got one problem with it...the damn eject button. I don't know if it has a 30 second "piss me off" delay to eject the disk, but talk about stupid! Your done watching your movie and want to pop the disk out, so you hit the eject button....wait ten seconds....cuss and swear because nothing is happening, so then you hit the button again....then you realize you just told it to keep the disk in there (usually takes 20 seconds to realize that  )...then you hit the damn button again and give it a full 30 seconds, then it finally opens and lets you take the disk out. It doesn't give any trouble taking the disk, but giving it back it sure knows how to piss me off!
