Good ole sun dried parts got some black paint. I wire wheeled the bare rusted front frame and sprayed some paint to help prevent from rusting up too soon... I Started pulling them old cut hose off in prep for installing the motor

step by step getting there intake cleaned up & back in hoses all hoked up underneath & got the carburetor back in

Juan, I found this truck in 09 & it was down 2 yrs after i got it going again as the 5spd trans i had ran dry and made terrible noises on the freeway and hr away from home in traffic... in fact i was

coming home from your area when it happened...lol just came down over that hill w/ fans and by the Honda dealer ship on 580

AS I BELIEVE I RAN GEAR OIL IN THE TRANS :oops: it was dry as a bone inside ...I WON'T do that again... :esad

slowing changed out front end parts working on the wore out stuff making it solid before making her PRETTY

I rolled down to San Jose PnP yesterday in it. It ran fine stayed cool even in traffic coming home, I think that the furthest I've taken her since the new trans.. been keeping her kinda close to home

Hows your coming along ?.....I'm ready to roll back that way & see what your up to on yours if your up for it. What parts you looking for on yours these days ?

You went to check out that luv at the pnp huh lol. I need the seat belts. I lost my key yes I only had one key so now I'm waiting for an ignition switch to come in. My girl said it came in today I'm till at work. So hopefully this weekend she's running again.

Yep drove out there w/ no pics to know what to expect ...Yea .. lol headed out at 9 am left theer at 330 home by 6:15 good ol bay area :)
I was looking for front end parts for a friend's truck & I still need a smog pump...my bearings are fried and squealing so i pulled the belt for now ...& I believe after this trip (4hrs) gas mileage has dropped.

Here is pics of what i found down there... front end crunched pretty good. someone must have made it out to it before me as a tail light was hanging, couple parts inside was missing, the ignition was gone seat belt were still there but not sure of condition...wish i had known or have asked & snagged them for ya ..... :signoops

hood hinges were busted so you could only peek in till i pulled the hood latch off to see inside.
The carb & motor was complete & looked fine The smog pump was tuff to get out & when i did, realized it had a bent shaft so no sale .. The dash had a dash cap on it...

They charged me 12$ for it :D ... can't beat that ...LUV IT ! got a few spare parts.

OK back to sharing more pic of this rescue cleaned out some stuff in the cab floor boards didn't get miss treated to much their still solid there was lots of dirt that settle in the dash area blew it out and wipe what i could out connecting didn't look too bad cleaned a few

slowly starting to look like a truck again w/ the fenders off i wire wheeled what look rusted and gave it a quick coat of flat black to help w/ rust down the road

so I started getting this label so i can dial in my brain at what i'm looking at

ok close up of a stock carb all cleaned up ..
This carb has been on all 3 of my LUVS :D hasn't given much problem since i bought it back in the late 80's

This was the dash i pulled out of her typical cracks and lower 1/2 seems fine ...so many reworking it down the road to share w/

other as i have found a better one and save d several more to rework

Here are the 3 relays under that metal box on the pass fender....They still had numbers on them so i noting those just in case their needed.

not sure on the earlier years 72-74 but My truck is a 77 has 3 (I believe 75-77 are the same w/ 3 ...but not so sure on 78-79 )

I have notice the 80 model only had 2 relays & wiring harness is also different so heads up

When i got to checking out the back wires i notice the little box for trailer lights i guess but

more interesting I wanted to know what the 778 that is stamped in this round plug located on the back of the bed....What do you think ?...
Maybe the year of making the bed since it was added on when it came to the states ??

I heard step side beds came out in 78 and this is on a 77 Truck......... ANYONE ???

At this point the distributor was causing me problems & my spare was broke too So i got to learn how to take one all apart :lol:

my motto is if it broke i can't make it worse so why not pull it apart you already have to replace it so what the heck...LEARN

Damn dude u have done a shit load of work to this already. I didn't know ur truck has all those relays. I don't think my 74 has one? Well not that I know of lol. Looking good tho. What is that in the back? A big greenhouse? ?

Thanks its been quite the project... and still, a ways to go so no tin cover on the pass fender & no relays on earlier yrs hummm...Well your lucky :lol: ...

I know there trouble when they go out played "WHICH ONE IS WHICH "so i pull & save the ones i come across

A friend of mine let me use this shed to work on my 66 chevelle & its over by the Richmond dumps.

Color spot and Orchids are grown near by in these green houses
