It is a 1996 Itasca Class A motorhome. It has a BBC with only 28,000 miles. Went to look at it friday and went back last night to bring it home. The wife even likes it!!!!

Be sure to check the towing set up VERY carefully, they usually aren't braced well enough for much more than a small boat unless specifically ordered that way or previously modified...

Thanks, I am going to look at getting something under the tongue, something like a Trailer Toad or Tuff Tow. When my dad gets back from Arizona I will have him help me figure something out. The motorhome will more than likely sit at the track most of the summer.

an isuzu NPR strate 6 diesel is just what it needs.

other wize its a 6/9 mpg ride, i mite even pay pal you $5 if it gets more than 9

I think you will be safe trooper T. The first time I checked the mileage I got 5.7 but that was with running the generator for 2 hours. And it was very windy also. So it was probably a little of 6!!! Would like to take it on a long haul to give it the real test.

is it just a run of the mill HD T400 3 speed and a 4.11 rear end?
or is it a 4speed T400?

had that set up in are ford.........just a C6 not a T400 and 460 not 454

first gear way to tall, 3RD gear way to low, and 2ND when ever at WOT
and yea 6/8 mpg, 9 down hill in N with engine off

the worst was 16 miles on 5 gallens thats 3.2 MPG empty in stop and go.

an I-6 diesel what ever brand you like, whould be 10/13 mpg at 55 thats 85% or more MPG.
mabe more with a manual trans.

9 with the eng. off. I like that.

With the Peterbilt, I get 9.7 with no trailer, 5-7 with a legal load, depending on the weight, and about 2.5-3.5 when pulling the 9 axle loaded. That's grossing around 200,000lbs. I'm am SO glad it's a company truck, and I don't get that fuel bill.

It has the 4 speed auto, not sure of the rear gears. I filled up again the other day and got 5.1 mpg but is with running the generator for 4 hours. After I got the rig in the driveway the wife came over and asked me how much? I asked her if she really wanted to know. She said not really. It was down to 1/4 tank and took $180 to fill it back up!! She told me that is pretty expensive for just a hobby.

Ouch, my 32 footer with the Ford V-10 gets 12 loaded towing my 20 foot boat.

That is very good. I wish mine got that good of mileage. But the motorhome mileage is a little better than my old dually and the wife seems happy with the motorhome except for the mileage part!!
