The VGA style connector, you should be able to hook up to most LCD\Plasma TV. Last one and current one, have computer cable and the TV has a input on the input options. It will not be HD, but you can run a large screen settings 1024x768 or larger. I have not seen a HDMI output, my notebook is 2 years old. Something brand new might have one.
I have seen a/v connections before. When I was in the business, we used large screen projection units on walls and the looked good. You could not sit 4' ft from them, but in meetings and classroom room settings, they were good. We ran them in at largest setting the notebook would go. These were beyond what the notebook screen would show, and they would have to change the settings back before unhooking the notebook computer.
Check on the HP and Dell website and see if they have something like that.... Any adapter will not give you true HDMI output.
