We are having homemade tamales, Charo beans, those made by a lady that works with the wife... I am not sure what else yet. My daughter is coming up and she wanted tamales.

We are making Pecan-Pumpkin Pie, not separate pies, this is a pie itself. Pumpkin on the bottom, pecan(pie) on top. 8O

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

The normal turkey deal. But my wife magically produces it out of our camper at the desert! She finds new ways to make it better every year. I swear I didn't load that much food in there at home, and yet we eat like kings out there. I know she pre-cooks many items at home first, but, the camper oven is small even for warming things up.... I don't know how she does it. But I love it.

This year it's Bacon Wrapped Turkey with garlic spuds and the rest of the typical Turkey day fixins.

Working that day the boss will buy us a prime rib, and the crew will bring in everything else.

Deep fried turkey is a thing that MUST be tasted. You may never go back to Baked Turkey

Tried it once, ruined the entire dinner. Maybe it wasn't prepared right but it was gross.

You had someone who did not know how to cook it. Crispy skin, very tender turkey, nothing is dry. It also depends on what you use to season your bird. Too many people think it has to be very spicy. I have cooked 6 at one time. YOU must use peanut oil. Oil is very hot . Peanut oil will not burn like regular oil. We also use it to fry cat fish in large quantities. Oil is 325 degrees.

For real? Are these locally harvested? Can you buy them at the store? I thought they were only ever used for their pelts... Don't tell me they taste like chicken.

we trap them in the woods behind the house. Doesn't taste like chicken. A little greasy but good on a sanwich and what is left will be made into hash the next day.

Us out of work folks have to stretch the budget, so I get Skippy instead of the USDA handout kind since it's a holiday...

I am not going to argue with my wife on a pie... Just pumpkin would make me happy, lemon, pecan, and chocolate pie will do. Mom will bring a bird cake... Thin cake of some kind We love it. I am a pie man, but will eat other stuff too.
