You would think that nothing eventful happening would be a good thing. This was reported and is just another way to spend our tax dollars!!!

HAMMOND, Louisiana — An investigation has been launched after significant events have failed to take place for the fourth day in a row, resulting in a complete absence of area news.

Gah... when it gets quiet, the cops get bored. Sonora's a pretty darn quiet town, and I get questioned about the dumbest things.
lol, don't wish for silence around yourself, for it only amplifies the noise that you make.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Cajun are French Speaking Acadians, which left or were run out of what would be Canada. There was a large population that moved to what is now Louisiana and some other places. They speak their own version of French. Of course the French don't consider it the French Language. Sorta like TexMex. Cajuns are officially recognized by the U.S. government as a national ethnic group.

Coonass is questionable in organ. Sort of like Redneck, but a friendly name used by them and people that know them proudly . THEY LIKE to have a good time and will have a party for any excuse!! Cajun music is a thing of its own. They can cook concrete till it is tender. I think it is genetic. My cousin is one....

Look up Cajun and CoonAss on the net...

PapaG, you are a man of knowledge. Forgot one thing though. Coonasses enjoy the life of and on the bayou. True Coonasses will only be seen in 'civilization' for mandatory things like ammo, and ????, well ammo. No really, they do live off of the land and buy what the land today won't furnish enough of. Last, they are very territorial! I remember working on a survey crew (25 years ago) and were deep inside of the Chackbay area swamp. We were on an aluminum boat moving along a bayou not much above idle running a survey line for a few hours, when one of the crew noticed a shack set off the bayou and all but impossible to see. We started talking about checking it out during lunch time until Poks, the crew chief, pointed out a guy sitting near the waters edge with a rifle watching us. Poks (yea that's his real name) said he had been watching us from the moment we got there and if we tried to set foot in or near his home, he would shoot! Poks spoke from experience! Well since I'm still here you can tell we did NOT go anywhere near his house. Bayou versions of voodoo and beliefs are alive and well. One I still hear about today is the Rugaru of Black Bayou. Pretty much a bigfoot.

Watch the movie "Southern Comfort" and you will get a idea of what chevyluv1980 is talking about. Not New Orleans. I have heard, outside Baton Rouge, can be one of those areas. A truck driver customer warned me about that area. Southwestern Louisiana is Acadian.

Forgot about Southern Comfort. Get North of New Orleans and you will see a sharp decline in Coonasses. Now south of New Orleans where the bayous, marsh and especially swamps are plentiful, they are home!
