My sister in law's name is Ida. Just like the storm that came ashore in the gulf yesterday. She has two master degrees and thinks everyone is beneath her and dosen't hesitate to let you know. Ida will tell you how much she makes and what YOU can and can't afford. This has been going on for the two years since she moved back to Louisiana. Well today I poped right in front of her mother, sister (my wife) and her husband. My wife and I are living paycheck to paycheck (barely) and she told me I need to get rid of my LUV truck, 53 Ford-F-100, my dog, etc. etc. I told her to shut up! Thinking about the storm I blurted out, "you are just like that storm. Every time you are around someone you nothing but hot air comes out of your mouth as you beat your lips together about how smart you are, how you have it made, as you tear into everyone or just beat people in the ground. The storm is now a depression and so the fuck are you!" She grabbed her purse and stormed out our house! Her husband told me he wishes I had not said that because now he is going to catch hell. I let him know that wasn't my problem, but good luck, you married her, not me and I don't need this crap! Dale, my brother-in-law, called me and said she is all broken up and he is having to take her to a shrink. Should have taken her to a padded cell if you ask me!
This feels good to rant!!!!!

Dale, her husband, called me and said she was told to go home early from work today. She was getting on too many fellow workers nerves. It seems I must have really stepped on HER last nerve. My wife says I should be ashamed of myself. Of course she is still upset about my bumper gag. Look in the general section for that one..... And no, I am not ashamed!!!!
Is all of this going to bite me in the ass later?

Dude, I seriously doubt this is your fault.

It sounds like she was tetering on the edge and you gave her a little nudge.

If it wasn't you, it would have eventually been someone else. LOL!

Sounds like Ida has been looking in the mirror and doesn't like what she sees...

People do that. I think you just shattered her illusion, and it broke her.

People usually dislike in others what they dislike most about themselves.

Sounds like you gave her a dose of what she needed but didn't want to hear. I feel bad for your brother-in-law....but it's his choice to stay with her.

If I had known she was teetering a while back, I would have SHOVED her ass off the edge! To date she won't speak to me and Dale says she seems to have turned inside of herself. I know he is concerned about his wife, but jokingly he asked why I haden't done that sooner! The peace and quiet in his house is sweet. Their daughter isn't cutting Ida any slack either and sides with me. So far this has not bothered me one bit, unfortunately, they have been invited for Thanksgiving dinner and my wife want's me to appologize to her. Told her that isn't going to happen, their daughter told me she deserves what I said, Dale is keeping his mouth shut, and if Ida was that mentally unstable, nothing I say will fix the problem. Think I should call her and ask to speak to the SPACE CADET?
Oh yea, she is on several types of drugs now and two of them are Xanax and Thorazine (I think that's how it's spelled). Dale told me she may have some type of personality disorder and she has to see a psychiatrist regularly now.
YA THINK???

She kinda sounds like my stepbrother's ex-wife. She was manic-depressive. A real nut case!!

Sounds like her plane is circling and it aint gonna land soon...lol

I have an older sister just like her that no one in my family can stomache being around. I haven't spoken to her in years since I told her off and kicked her butt off my property. Even her kids have moved far enough away so they don't have to deal with her BS...lol

My girlfriend's father's a bit like that... He's a Vietnam Vet. He has his days, but one can't help but dislike him.

He was freaking out one day and I thanked him. He quieted down pretty quick. Turns out that he was in the middle of one of the worst VC attacks of the war...
I suppose it's just a reminder to thank a Vet every now and then... it really helps.

Well, I don't think your sister in law counts under that category... but some people are crazy for a reason. lol, or like my half-uncle (paranoid schizophrenic), it's just something that can be summed up through the simple category of "shit happens".
Good Luck.

All I can say right now is that the phone hasn't been ringing and I haven't heard a word from her. I like the peace and quiet!

Good Luck.

I agree that almost everyone has a reason for acting the way they do, but I don't think that gives them a "pass" to treat people like crap or cause chaos. I don't want to come off as cold to their situation. But at some point they need to get over that $hit and move on.

Everyone has had tough times. That's life. The difference is how we deal with it. Do we dwell on it? Or do we chock it up as experience points and move forward?

I'm with Ben on this one.

Too many times I've seen some Vet acting like a jerk on purpose and thinking that he deserves a lifetime pass. At some point, if you've been through ANY type of traumatic experience, you have to seek and get help if you need it, and then you just need to try your best to move forward and get on with your life.

I've seen lots of people that have gone through some really terrible mental and physical ordeals, and then bounce right back with help. IMHO...you can't build a future while you are too busy whining about your past that can't be changed.

Like I said... I can't help but dislike him. And no, I don't give him a free pass because of his veteran status. Oh, and I didn't know until I found one of those lists with his name on it.
Life is full of this type of people, and the way you deal with them shows a lot about the health of your own mind. lol, chevyluv1980 definitely has his own mind figured out (no sarcasm intended, I really do think that.)

Ben's very right. Get up, shake it off, and get on with it.
