Hi my name is Cody.
I picked up a Luv about a year ago. Title says 74 but after doing some reseach on here I think it is a 76.

When I was younger I always wanted a Luv and I had planned putting a 350 in it. But times have change and I'm going in a differant direction. I'm think turbo 2.0. I have the motor at Bearing Services. I should be getting it back next week and then I can start the real work of getting it in.

I hope to meet some cool people on here and I have already gotten a lot of info but I'm going to need a lot more.
Thank you
Cody

Just curious why you think it is a 76?? Doesnt have the 76 bumper or emblems and looks like it has the tail lights below the tailgate, which they moved besided the tailgate in 76.

It has the newer motor, the disc brakes and yes the four tie downs. That is what I was going by. Also the vin is a Washington state issued, so I don't really know what it is but it isn't a 74 like it says.

Mikado or not would not dicide the year of the truck. And people change steering wheels all the time.

I think it is a Mikado. It has the emblems on the back and it has the blue pin stripped seat and door panels.
Would that explane the engine and brakes if it is a 74

no... it would mean some one converted it... it has been don to the 72/75 ones before... especially the brakes...as long as the vin matches the truck .... look at the driver side of the block by the firewall there will be a year on it saying when the block was made... that should tell you what truck it came out of...

So I looked on the block today and it say 80 442. Does that mean that it is a 1980 block.
