Hi everyone! I've been reading these forums for quite some time and it's great to be a part of it now. For some reason, these little trucks have always fascinated me. I think maybe it's their quirky styling and relative rarity. Anyway, about a month ago I came across this '76 stepside through a friend and I've been constantly toying with it since then. As you can see, it has the requisite cancer, destroyed interior and it needed a (surprise!) head gasket before I could get it on the road, but it's running! While I'd like to yank the engine and replace it with something a little gutsier, my first real order of business is to get it to pass smog so I can get tabs. After 90 days, I can register it in my home state (Washington) where it is exempt from emission requirements and the fun can really begin but in the meantime, it needs some help!
