I was driving my moped to work this morning. Where I usually get the few assholes that think they can pass me and only leave a few inches between the side of their car and my leg, but today was much worse then normal. I got a guy right before the Corner of Mackinaw, and Tittabawassee in Saginaw honked his horn about 5 times before I looked behind me. By time I looked behind me we were at a red light, and he started to honk at me some more. So I finally just flipped him. Well the guy was driving a crappy 80’s camaro and apparently the drive window was broken because then he had to open his door and start yelling at me for driving so slow. Well state law says that Mopeds are only allowed to drive 35mph. The larger scouters are considered motorcycles and you need a motorcycle endorsement for. And if you do not know this area well, the speed limit is 45 for the past mile i was on it, before that it was 35, then 25, so for the longest time I was going to the speed limit. Well the guy start to yell at me even more and the funnest and stupist thing came out of his mouth. “The FUCKING police even passed you ASSHOLE, if you can not go the speed limit get off the fucking road!” Ummm last I checked you should want the police to pass you if anything, even driving my truck the speed limit are speeding I still get police officers passing me everyday in Saginaw, and where ever else I drive.
Well by now the guy is really getting flamed up, he must open his door about 3 or 4 times to yell something else at me before the light change back to green. But there was a guy in front of me...so how I am an “asshole” I decided to just wait a minute before moving, just to make him wait a little bit longer, and then a I hit the throttle slowly to just creep up to speed. To make this even better, heading North on Mackinaw right after Tittabawassee it becomes a double solid line the the speed limit goes up to 50 for about 2 miles. Well I do get it up to 35 then the limiter kicks in like always for I can not go any faster. Surprisingly the guy did not try and pass me on the double lines (have had people do that before), and right after those 2 miles there was on coming traffic for about another half mile before he even had a chance to pass me. When he passed me I just smiled and waved.

I can understand why people do not like people on moped how most of the time they are under the speed limit and we all just want to get where we want to go. But that guy was just so god damn stupid, yeah your cool your yelling at a guy on a moped. Go you! Because of people like him and other people who just try to pass me at any moment they “THINK” they have a chance is why I wear a helmet when it is not required for someone on a moped. Also one thing that makes people really hate me is that I drive in the center of my lane. But that just has to do with someone tried to pass me staying in my lane while in coming traffic was coming. He came within an inch of me and the oncoming traffic had to swerve off the road how the guy was about only foot out of my lane.

I know i should not have not flipped the guy off, but i guess i have bigger balls then brains, and I deal with a lot of bullshit driving a moped, but I also enjoy driving it. Just thought someone on here might get a chuckle out of this.

atleast you managed to keep your cool. thats whats most important. good job, let that dick speed off to his death. I dunno, I played the moped game and its hard to ever be the winner - but I salute you for not tearing up the sidewalks.

I once thought it was a wise idea to toss a Sonic Route 44 cherry limeaid slush out the window of my first LUV at some jack ass who had cut me off, he was pissed and gave chase! I thought I had managed to hide from him until he found me and 5 mexicans jumped out of the van with tire irons. In attempt to try and back up and flipp a "J" turn I flipped my nice Mikado 1980 Luv over. I walked away with several bruises and a whooped ass.

Never Again.

its always better to just walk away.

You need to put a sticker or a sign that says:

"Honk if you are stupid. The law says I can't go over 35 MPH."

I just saw a old Adam Sandler movie, where he is a nut driving a moped in New York City.
Not what you were doing. And you can't drive it on the sidewalk without getting a ticket.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

"I might be slow but I am ahead of you" sticker comes to mind.

i want to make a bumper sticker that tells people behind me that my truck has a manual tranny and if they dont wanna get hit with my solid-all-metal bumper then its best to not tailgate on uphills. I get that a lot when im at a red light in a slope. I try letting go of the brakes a little so they can see that I drive a stick shift car, but damn ppl are in such a hurry that they just get closer to me. I think once I actually tapped a car, thats how steep the hill was, or maybe i was a little pissed that the bastard go to close to me  ..

hahahahhaha.. something like that happened to me. When I bought my Luv, Up in Vallejo (couple miles from San Fransisco), I was going to change the spark plugs before I brought it home, LA, but I saw that I didnt have the correct socket, I had the 5/8" only and not the 13/16" which I needed. I didnt see that I left one of the spark plug cables unplugged and I brought it home like that..:esurprised People were so pissed off at me.. Even semis were going around me uphill...

Drove a 1973 MG Midget while in Las Vegas and many times I had people changing lanes right into me. They tended to swerve back into their lane when I beat on their door. Even had a few start chewing me out for doing so. Just told them that my car was paid for, what about yours? My wife made me sell it after I was run off of the road and ended up WAY out in the desert. Scared the crap out of me and had sand in places I don't care to mention!
