What were they doing to that car anyways?
Yeah I live near a VW dealership, they have a lot of clunkers in back too. Some of them are pieces of crap, some are probably fine. I say if you personally can make a buck off trading in your clunker, what the hell. I might have Clunked my GMC if it were a newer one because how the hell else would I get $4500 for it (Would have clunked it on a new Aveo, then sold my old Aveo for 2 or 3 g's and then had a brand new car for about 5 g's). Nobody wanted it when it was on sale for $3000! But I do agree that I hate to see cars getting crushed for the sake of fuel efficiency. Now I think I'm going to go try and order one or two of those "hybrid" badges and stick it on the LUV just to F with people. You know they have a "hybrids only" parking space at the grocery store now.

I think the entire program is assanigned (sp). Just another way of our leadership giving someone something for nothing or at the least very little. Why not buy a car off Craigslist for a few hundred bucks and Clunk it? I'm sure alot of people did. This program isn't much different than all the law practices we see on TV advertising how they can get you out of paying your back taxes. I pay all my damn taxes and those crooked basta@#$ should be shot. We aren't headed for trouble, we are already there...just don't realize it yet. Can we survive another three and a half years and still recover?
If it's your money already because you pay taxes, go get a cheap clunker, clunk it, and take your money back if you need to buy a new car. I'm just sayin.

That's why people should be required to pay for what they use, rather than paying taxes, and the whole F'ing system would be fixed. Need a car, buy one. Need a house, buy one. Can't afford a house, rent it. Can't afford a new car, buy a used one. Don't send your kids to public school? Forget paying property taxes. If Californians had to actually pay to send their kids to school they might actually give a crap about the quality of their teachers. The communities that have good ones are lucky but I'll tell you right now I'll never send my kids to LAUSD.
OK, I'm off the soap box. Next?
