ok... whats the deal?

the four bolts are out, but it looks like there is a special nut where the shaft goes through the firewall
is there a special tool for it or something?

It looks like a nut with only four tangs sticking out on the sides.

Once the 4 nuts are off, the only thing holding it is the factory sealant between it and the firewall. The last one I removed I had to pry off...The piece you are thinking is holding it on is part of the booster itself and is not keeping it from coming off. :?

well I learned that if pulling on it dosent work... get the 3 ft pry bar out
and ta-da!

It was just really stuck in there..

Those tangs were just for the rubber boot
