I messed up the plastic piece that hooks to my temp sending unit. Can I just strip the wire and wrap it around the nail connector or would that not be wise?

Also. If anyone has a parts truck and would like to cut that piece out of their harness and would sell it to me cheap, I would be interested in buying it. :)

I'm going to say yes you can. Or you could use a female flat wire connector (the crimp on style) and then just slide it on the unit. As long as the wire does not touch anything else metal and is making a good contact, it should work.

Maybe a good quality alligator clip would hold.

Wouldn't we call that a roach clip? I have "heard" of those.

Rondog is correct a standard female connector will work fine.

Here's some alligator clips for ya. They're on sale at Harbor Freight until the 25th of this month. If Mississippi doesn't have Harbor Freight, you can find them elsewhere.

If ya use 'em to smoke a derby, just watch out ya don't get greedy and burn the rubber! LOL I know Mississippi has a derby!!!
